This WoW Blacksmith leveling guide will give you an idea of how much fun it is being a Blacksmith in the World of Warcraft. Advice on how to level up with the minimum amount of gold by finding useful items is also part of this guide.
What Are Blacksmiths?
A Blacksmith is a crafter of armor and weapons. There are certain weapons that cannot be found in quests and cannot be purchased from merchants but can be made by Blacksmiths. This profession is the main supplier of armor, weaponry and other items needed by other players, particularly Warriors and Paladins.
Developing Blacksmithing Skills
The first thing that should be done by a Blacksmith is to find a trainer. These trainers are often found standing near an anvil or a forge. After training, buying a blacksmithing hammer is the next step. Grinding Stones, Weak Flux and Coal are just some of the items that a Blacksmith will also need. Plans are also needed and these can be purchased from trainers or found from monster drops.
Reaching Your Goal
Leveling up in this profession requires a lot of gold, so it is wise for a Blacksmith to take advantage of opportunities wherein he can earn extra money and gold. Getting through the lower levels will require huge expenses and skills, but it is when you get to the higher level when the profession can be more challenging.
At level 200 of Blacksmithing, a player can select a specialization. He can choose Armorsmithing, wherein he will have access to armor plans, or choose Weaponsmithing, which will provide him with access to melee weapon plans. Those who choose to become a Weaponsmith have further specialization options, including Master Swordsmith, Master Axesmith and Master Hammersmith.
In deciding your specialization, think about what is important to you, armor or weapons? If you are a member of a guild, ask your guild friends what type of Blacksmith the group needs. Remember also that you can decide to have another specialization, but you need to give up your existing one by paying certain amounts of gold to unlearn it. That is why a WoW Blacksmith leveling guide will always tell you to be sure early on what specialization you really want so that you don't get to waste your gold.
